Exclude Folders from Sublime Text Search

Let’s close this once & for all.

Problem 1: Exclude files from Indexing

When you press ctrl+p or command+p that shows up a list of all files. Sublime indexes all files present in your working directory. To prevent those CPU spikes when looking up for files, you’d require to exclude the library files e.g. your node_modules and bower_packages using the User Defined settings‘s property called binary_file_patterns.

Problem 2: Exclude files from Search

You can search entire project directory by using command(win-ctrl) + shift + f, and pass in the expression you want to search.

To filter out the folders you do not want to look in, you may use the following syntax:
